Infosys shares decline following the announcement of earnings

Monday morning. Shares of Infosys plummeted nearly 15 percent in morning trading after the company reported weaker-than-anticipated fourth-quarter net profit growth and a feeble revenue growth forecast for FY24.

The share price reached a 52-week nadir on the bourses.

Infy fell 12.21 percent to 1,219 on the BSE, and 14.67 percent to 1,185.30 on the NSE, its 52-week low.

Infosys was the largest decline on both the Sensex and Nifty benchmark indices.

The market value of the company fell by 73,060.65 crore to 5,08,219.35 crore.

Despite the lacklustre performance of the broader market, mutual fund inflows increased nearly 7 percent in FY23 to 40,05 lakh crore from 37,70 lakh crore in the preceding 12 months. Intriguingly, the number of female investors in mutual funds from the top 30 and beyond 30 cities rose to approximately 7.44 million in December 2022, up from approximately 6.38 million the previous year.
